Sharon Hall with the San Antonio Tea Party is helping organize a poll watching and voter registrar training session Thursday Aug 18th. The purpose is to help keep an eye on the polls during election time to make sure rules are not violated and also to get people registered to vote!
You can find out more on the meetup group and signup if you plan to attend.
Sunday, September 4th @ 6pm. This will be at the home of Roger and Lynn Bloxham. 3407 Old Forge Drive, San Antonio, Texas. There is a venue change on this event from the last newsletter so please take note. Lynn and Roger Bloxham are having us over for ice cream! They will be providing sodas, coffee, tea and water. Please bring your favorite sweets to go with ice cream. This being a Libertarian event, Oreos, gummy bears, syrup, nuts, fruit whatever are all welcome. Mr. Robert Lapham, our state Executive Director, has committed to attend. Wine and beer will be available to toast to the continued success of our Executive Director and his staff.
Next Tuesday is our regular business meeting. These are more structured than the regular meetings. Please attend even though they are not complete open discussion periods. If you do have questions someone will gladly step aside with you and talk with you.
Watch the next Republican debate. Bring a snack. Please RSVP on the meetup group if you can: San Antonio Meetup. This will be the debate in Florida and Gary Johnson will be attending for the first time.
Each person that believes in the principles of the Libertarian Party should live those principles. We all know that spreading ideas is difficult even when they are great ideas. If we vote for these and we want these to be the ideas that our country stands by then we should be willing to spread them. So each of us should challenge ourselves to grow the party. There is no Libertarian super team spreading the word on our behalf. It takes all of us, one by one, creating a network of liberty.
So each month everyone needs to challenge themselves to do one of the following:
There is no special process or right words. There are no trick or gimmicks. This is it. If we want to grow the party, if we want to have our principles spread across the nation, and if we want to win offices this is what we have to do. Each of us. Every month. Doing our part. Liberty starts with you wanting it enough for yourself and your family.
James Holland is organizing the next block walking event. Week 2 of our October walking campaign is meeting this week at our favorite residence, the Bloxham's. Lynn will have some light breakfast and lunch snacks available. We will be distributing flyers to people in precinct 3013 starting at nine. Comfortable neat clothes, hat, sunglasses, good shoes, water bottle, back pack or satchel, and clipboard are all good items to bring. We'll go until we run out of door hangers or doors to be hung.
Election season with filing deadlines are approaching and our October meeting is devoted to helping potential candidates prepare their campaigns. Everyone who wants to be involved during the 2012 election cycle is encouraged to attend and give your input.
